Originally founded by Jay Villa in March of 2007 as the “Houston Photography Meetup Group” and reorganized by Darryl Briggs in November 2010, the Houston Photography Club of Texas was a natural progression to plan photoshoots with the primary focus on providing a way for like-minded photographers to gather and learn from each other at our many photo events.
We offer classes in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom as well as basic camera operations and Strobism to name a few. Every month we have location shoots allowing everyone the opportunity to learn and photograph a wide range of subjects including people, landscapes, wildlife and festivals.
We welcome photographers of all skill levels and interests to join our family.
About the Organizer
In 1997, Darryl Briggs rekindled his love of photography after being away from it for several years. As an avid motorcycle rider and photographer the natural progression was to combine the two. Over the years this has led to his being published in magazines such as Easyriders, Street Chopper, Street Customs, Hot Bike, The Horse and American Choppers to name a few. Darryl is also a regular contributor to Blitz Weekly; photographing models, sports and advertising campaigns.
